The crane rail is a crane running route laid by rails, which ensures that the crane runs along the prescribed route and transmits the wheel pressure to the foundation. Crane rail can be divided into light rail type (P) and heavy rail type (QU). Small tonnage, medium tonnage crane rail uses P-type railroad rail, large tonnage gantry crane rail uses QU type crane special rail or square rail.

Crane Rail Fixation
The crane's trolley track must be fixed on the travel beam, the trolley track fixed on the main beam. When the crane is in operation, the crane track cannot move laterally and longitudinally, and the crane track must be easy to adjust.

- Diagram A: Uses straight seam welding and is a non-detachable structure. The crane track section stress is integrated into the main girder stress, increasing the girder’s bearing capacity. This connection method is suitable for trolley tracks with a working level below M5.
- Diagram B: The most commonly used fixing method in China. It is convenient to assemble but difficult to disassemble.
- Diagrams C and D: Applicable for crane working levels M6, M7, and M8.
- Diagrams E and F: Use screw connections and are suitable for special cases where the track bottom is not easy to bolt.
- Diagram G: Incorporates a 3–6 mm rubber pad at the bottom of the crane track to reduce impact and vibration.
- Diagram H: A fixing method specifically designed for circular crane rails.
- Diagram I: A fixing method where the large trolley track is mounted directly onto the crane rail beam.
Crane Rail Safety Inspection
Check the rail, bolt, plywood before the crane rail installation, and replace it immediately if there are any cracks or irregularities. For the steel rail surface and side that are allowed to be repaired, the wear defect should not exceed 3mm steel rail, repair it before using.
